VIVIENNE WESTWOOD 1993 F/W ELEVATED COURT SHOES

Since their premiere in the early 90s, the Court Shoe has become a staple in Vivienne Westwood's lauded archive. Sky high gold to any seasoned collector, the shoes appear in many colors, shades, and variations.

In her infamous 1993 fall on the runway, Naomi Campbell actually launched them even further in the spotlight - with other designers inquiring if they could pay her to fall for them. She declined, discussing with her longtime friend Westwood that the fall was most certainly not faked for publicity, but due to her thighs catching on her vinyl latex tights and not the fault of the shoes at all.

Westwood, an activist, anarchist, designer, and Grande Dame of fashion can never be rivaled, and is sorely missed. Her impact and light shine on through her creations.
