DRESS CODE: TRIPLE D
Do you dress your ears? Don't forget about them! They're the hidden stars that add that finishing touch to any look. In fact, we often create entire outfits around them. Today we're talking about Recess style staples- the statement earring! Our current fave five pairs make a shapely statement in crystals and gold, and we'd rock a different pair every day of the week. Go on, be prepared for the compliments to roll in. We'll be waiting- we're all ears.
These crystal cage earrings are one of our favorites with so much understated presence. The long drop earring is a structured, architectural piece that feels light and airy with a hollow 3-dimensional gold cage structure and small clip base. Covered in light peridot green crystals, the rhinestone sparkle is nearly neutral. Swingy without being sloppy, we'd wear these with a crisp white shirt, high waisted trousers, and jeweled sandals with stacks of crystal cocktail rings.
The bright, bold crystals and beads of these large crystal chandelier earrings are reminiscent of a certain movie that revolves around a striking green emerald. We love the large scale of the center stone and the vibrant, saturated pop of color it adds to any look. We would tie our hair into a messy bun and wear with a floaty silk dress.
These extra long fringed rainbow crystal earrings by David Mendel for The Show Must Go On have a showstopping rockstar style the steals center stage. The long, long, long chain fringe shoulder dusters are some of the longest we've had, and have a whimsical, cheeky air to them. We love how it adds sparkle to our hair in rainbow waves. Don't mind us, we can't stop swishing our head around.
These collectable baroque heart drops by Parisian designer Edouard Rambaud are a beautiful representation of his signature style. Known for large runway-worthy statement earrings featuring hearts, stars, suns, and crosses in the 80s, Rambaud held company with designers such as Christian Lacroix. We would wear these large hearts with a velvet rope choker and layers of black mesh to appease our inner romantic goth.
There's nothing we love better than a stunning shoulder duster. This starry chandelier earring MAKES your outfit, hands down. We guarantee that no one is looking at anything else you're wearing. (Although that being said, we love this pair with our Valentino cosmic cocktail dress for a style all Ms. Frizzle). Crystal and enamel stars falling from a large star centerpiece add celestial movement to your look, and we would wear with a plain white tee and pencil skirt, keeping all the attention on these babies.
